About Me

My parents told me that when I was three years old, I walked around my block and got to know my neighbors. This began my lifelong interest in people. I have always been curious about why people act the way they do and how people decide the important issues in their lives. My family has always been very important to me. I was the eighth of nine kids. Growing up with a lot of siblings helped me to learn how to get along with a diverse group of people. Watching my siblings build and enjoy friendships gave me good examples of how to develop relationships outside the family. I realized at an early age that I got a great deal of joy from helping others. As a first grader, when I saw some older boys bullying my classmate, I successfully defended him. During my elementary school years, whenever it rained heavily, a nearby street flooded causing cars to stall. I enjoyed pushing them to higher ground where they could dry out and restart. These are just two early indicators of my lifelong love of helping people. The greatest experience of my life has been getting to know my bride! We've shared so many experiences including raising three fine kids. Being in a relationship with a strong, honest woman has helped me to be aware of and accept some of my imperfections. I think that being aware of and accepting my imperfections makes me less self-centered and more able to focus on helping others get what they want out of life. As a husband, father, lawyer, elementary school teacher and life coach, my skills as a good listener and my empathy and compassion have grown. So now, I am ready to help people to get more out of life - more happiness and fulfillment. If you are thinking about making a change and have hesitated, hesitate no more! Call me!

Life Coaching

I think that most people have ideas about changes they would like to make with their lives, but rarely get around to them. They live with the frustration of having the feeling that they could have done this or that BUT... (then they fill in one of the many reasons for not having made the change). This is where I can help. I will listen carefully to your ideas and help you to identify practical, manageable steps to implement the change. Then I will follow up to encourage completion. Lending a caring, supportive ear can be helpful in a wide variety of situations. Whether you are considering a job change, relocating, having relationship issues, wanting to improve your health or just looking for more happiness or peace of mind, I will help you weigh your options and make your ideas a reality.

Testimonials

  • I am in my fifties, had an important decision to make, and tend to overthink things. Any choice meant a lot of change and there wasn't a clear winner. My thoughts were going in every direction. After speaking with Michael a few times, I was able to think about it with a different perspective and was able to whittle it down to what was important to me. It's sometimes hard to sift through the noise and Michael was able to help with moving forward.

  • I was struggling with a dilemma in my life relating to balancing work and leisure. Since I felt strongly that I didn't need therapy, I decided to consult a life coach. I was looking for some wisdom and guidance on how to make my own decision and find my own path that fit me best. After our first consultation I knew Michael was my choice. His attention, listening skill with kindness, depth of understanding the complexities in our human decision making, creative ideas and approach to problem solving, helped me simplify the different decisions I was facing. I am very grateful to have figured out what I want.
